🔐 What is trezor.io/start?

trezor.io/start is the official setup portal for Trezor hardware wallets. It guides users through securely initializing their Trezor Model One or Trezor Model T device for the first time using the Trezor Suite app.

🛠️ Step-by-Step Setup Process

1. Go to trezor.io/start

• Open your web browser and enter: https://trezor.io/start
• Select your device model: Trezor Model One or Trezor Model T

2. Download and Install Trezor Suite

• Click the “Download Trezor Suite” button.
• Choose the right version for your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux).
• Install the application and launch it.

3. Connect Your Trezor Device

• Use the USB cable to plug your Trezor into your computer.
• Approve any connection requests on the device screen.

4. Install Firmware (If Prompted)

• If your Trezor is brand new, it won’t have firmware installed.
• Click “Install Firmware” in Trezor Suite.
• Verify the installation details on your Trezor screen and confirm.

5. Create a New Wallet

• After firmware installation, click “Create new wallet.”
• Choose Standard or Hidden wallet depending on your privacy needs.

6. Write Down the Recovery Seed

• Trezor will display your 12- or 24-word recovery seed.
•  Write it down by hand and store it offline. This is crucial for wallet recovery if your Trezor is lost or damaged.
• Never take a digital photo or store it online.

7. Set a PIN Code

• Create a strong PIN using Trezor Suite and confirm it on the device screen.
• This helps protect your wallet from unauthorized access.

8. Access Your Wallet Dashboard

• Once set up, you’ll see your wallet interface in Trezor Suite.
• You can send/receive crypto, manage coins, and use features like exchange and portfolio.
